First thing to say about this project is that it’s early days. If this project takes off and you get in early, the upside for the project could be HUGE!!

Why do I think this will perform extremely well?

Until now, Google & Bing have dominated the search engine space. Revenue which is made from selling your search data and ads all go back to the big corporations to pay shareholders at the end of the year.

The people using the service typically gets a good experience but they don’t get a slice of pie (unless they hold a substantial proportion of the stock)!

Now you have the opportunity to take back control of your information and earn Crypto whilst searching online but that’s not all, there’s a couple of other ways to make passive income using this platform which I’ll detail below.

Search Engine

Presearch is attempting to change this by rewarding it’s users in PRE tokens for using their search engine. Now if you use search engines a lot, this can add up quickly! The platform also features it’s own take on search engine ads. I get paid 0.06 PRE per search with a cap of up to 30 searches per day. Maxing these out give me 1.8 PRE per day for switching providers.

Adwords

You can use your PRE tokens to stake for Adwords. This allows you to advertise your products or services based on keyword searches to everyone using the platform based on what they search for. As an example, say you sell Crypto Miners, you could stake PRE on the keyword “Crypto Miner” and this would be the top search result when someone search those keywords. This would drive traffic to your website! A great way to lock up your tokens and generate additional conversations for your business/services.

Nodes (a proper node!)

No, no, no this isn’t a Ponzi node scheme that you deposit your PRE in to and earn a billion % per day and lose your initial deposit. This is a proper node project where you stake your PRE and you can unstake it at any time. This does require hardware or a VPS to run the node on.

You can get a VPS to run a PRE node on at RackNerd for $2 per month! The cheapest KVM VPS does the job!

The minimum stake for a node is 2000 PRE / $280 at current price. The reward structure isn’t simple enough to breakdown the precise PRE you will earn as it relies on uptime, latency and utilisation but more information on that can be found here.

What’s my strategy with PRE?

First, let me give you a bit of context here. PRE is currently ranked #441 on CoinGecko. If PRE becomes a Top 100 coin by Market Cap this would be a 10x project. Do I think that will happen? Yes! This project has utility, it pays people for using it, for advertising on it and for scaling the platform but this won’t happen overnight.

I’ve already bought a small bag at $0.094. For now, I plan to use a 3Commas bot strategy to build the bag. At every 2000 PRE interval, I’ll take the opportunity to build a node and continue to accumulate PRE with the aim of this becoming a passive strategy.

I’ll also be using some of that PRE to advertise on Presearch and funnel any earnings back in to PRE.

This is a long term hold for me. I’m going in to this expecting big things in the next 3–5 year.

What are my doubts about this project?

Taking on those large providers is a huge undertaking. To be successful, it will take a lot of hard work and resilience to take even a small share from the big corporations.
It’s not clear on how the team will generate revenue to continue building the project. In their Discord, they talk about the project generating Ad revenue but this model isn’t clear yet. They also mention affiliate links on the search engine too. They have confirmed that more information will be provided on this in due course
